Fred S. Grigsby, Chairman and President: Mr. Grigsby was the founder and
has served as our President and Directors since our formation in 1995. Mr.
Grigsby professional background reflects over 32 years of service with the
Social Security Administration. Upon obtaining a Bachelor in Business with
a major in Accounting from Union College, Kentucky in 1960 Mr. Grigsby
joined the Social Security Administration as Claims Representative Trainee.
By 1965 Mr. Grigsby had been promoted to Assistant District Manager,
Frankfort Ky. Promotions continued resulting in Mr. Grigsby holding many
permanent and temporary executive postings including Area Director. Mr.
Grigsby retired from the Social Security Administration in 1993 as the
District Manager of the Macon District. While employed by the Social
Security Administration he received 11 superior performance awards and the
Commissioner Citation, Social Security highest award.
Gordon M Sherman, Deputy Chairman: Mr. Sherman recently assumed the
position of Deputy Chairman with GBIS after retiring in 1999 with over 43
years combined military and civilian Federal service. During the last 23½
years of that service he occupied the position of Regional Commissioner of
the Social Security Administration (SSA) for eight (8) Southeastern states.
Walter D. Wilson, Executive Vice President - Administration: Mr. Wilson
has served on our Board of Directors since 1996. He served as President of
the Better Business Bureau of Central Georgia, Inc., from 1987 to 2002, and
currently serves as President Emeritus of that organization. Mr. Wilson has
also served as Chairman for both the Bibb County Development Authority, and
the Macon-Bibb County Board of Health.
Joyce Roberts Greiner, Vice President – Technical Support: Ms. Greiner
joined our Board of Directors in January 1996. From 1961 to 1995, she was
an Operations Officer with the Social Security Administration. Upon
retiring from that position, she has been a real estate agent, first with
Sherman & Hemstreet, then with Maybohm Realtors. She has also been, since
July 1997, associated with our Augusta, Georgia office.
Karl Thomas Bechtel, Secretary and Director at large: Mr. Bechtel has
served as our Secretary and one of our Directors since our January 1996.
From 1985 until 1993, he was an Industrial Production manager with the
Warner Robins (Georgia) Air Logistics Center, Department of the Air Force.
From 1993 till 1995, he served as Industrial Production Manager, Branch
Chief, Avionics Division, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center.
Ronald Leonard McDonald, Director at Large: Mr. McDonald has been a member
of our Board of Directors since January 1996 and serves as the Senior
Client Representative for corporate operations.
Russell Norman Greiner, Director at large: Mr. Greiner joined our Board of
Directors in January 1996. Since 1959, he has owned and operated Russell’s
Barbershop in Augusta, Georgia.
Fred S. Grigsby Jr., Chief Operating Officer and Director at Large: Mr.
Grigsby Jr. has been responsible for corporate operational activities since
2005 and has been a Director at Large since third quarter of 2007.
